DeMaio Cheers Court Decision Allowing a Public Vote on Pension Reform Initiative
Mayoral candidate and pension reform champion Carl DeMaio applauded today’s court ruling by Judge Dato that rejected the government labor unions lawsuit seeking to take the Comprehensive Pension Reform Ballot Measure off the June 2012 ballot. DeMaio offers the following statement:
“I am thrilled that today’s court ruling will uphold the people’s right to vote on Pension Reform in June. However, given how desperate the government labor unions and their lawyers have been thusfar, we can expect a major battle over pension reform leading up to election day.
That is why I am making passage of the Comprehensive Pension Reform ballot measure my top priority as I campaign for Mayor – and I will continue to vigorously defend the people’s right to use the ballot box to impose reform on city politicians and government unions.”
